Campus Virchow-Klinikum, Wedding
Berlin
Working at Charité
Our research group investigates the molecular mechanisms of aggressive hematologic malignancies using computational genomics and translational approaches. We integrate next-generation sequencing, single-cell multi-omics, and statistical modeling to study tumor biology, immune escape, and therapy resistance.
A major focus is Primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma (PMBCL). Using large, clinically annotated cohorts, we aim to identify genomic risk markers and develop molecular tools for personalized treatment.
The project combines large-scale sequencing datasets, single-cell transcriptomics, and integrative bioinformatic analyses in close collaboration with clinical and experimental partners.
Overview of the position
- Analysis of bulk and single-cell NGS datasets (WES/WGS, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq)
- Development of reproducible bioinformatic pipelines
- Integration of genomic, transcriptomic, and clinical data
- Development of statistical and predictive models
- Data visualization, interpretation, and communication of results
- Collaboration with experimental and clinical researchers
- Supervision of PhD and MD students
What we are looking for
We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with a strong background in bioinformatics and computational genomics, and a clear interest in cancer research and/or hematology, single-cell multi-omics, and data science.
The postdoctoral researcher will play a central role in the computational design, implementation, and interpretation of genomic analyses within this translational research project.
Essential
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Data Science, Biostatistics, or related field
Experience in NGS data analysis (bulk and/or single-cell) - Programming skills in R and/or Python and experience with Bash/Linux
- Strong statistical and analytical skills
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
Desirable
- Experience in cancer genomics or single-cell genomics
- Experience with multi-omics integration or predictive modeling
- Prior supervision experience
- German language skills
